Federal Grand Jury Returns Indictment
Ellsworth Man Charged With Producing &
Possessing Child Pornography
Madison, Wisconsin -- A federal grand jury in the Western District of Wisconsin, sitting in Madison, returned the following indictment today. You are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
Eric Schuster, 45, Ellsworth, Wis., is charged with the production of child pornography and possession of child pornography. The indictment alleges that on January 5, 2009, Schuster used a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing visual depictions of such conduct, and that he possessed a memory card containing images of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
If convicted, Schuster faces a mandatory minimum penalty of 15 years and a maximum penalty of 30 years in federal prison on the production charge, and a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal on the possession charge. The charges against him are the result of an investigation by the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department; Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation; and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Office of Homeland Security Investigations. The prosecution of this case has been assigned to Assistant U.S. Attorney Timothy M. O'Shea.
